Mohammad Angkad ranks 1st in BARMM, 3rd in Mindanao

Perseverance. Wit. Excellence
Name it, and he surely has it.
Truth is he possesses all these.

Mohammad Miadh Angkad, a Grade Ten student, reigned supreme and won first place in the Philippine Mathematical Olympiad (PMO)-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) and bagged third place in Mindanao.
On March 2, 2021, the official page of the PMO posted the results of the qualifying stage for Top Contestants from each area – Luzon, NCR, Visayas, and Mindanao. As efforts paid off, Mohammad Miadh Angkad attained 3rd place as Top Contestant from Mindanao and ranked 1st place specifically in Bangsamoro Autonomous Religion in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) in the qualifying stage. The selected team of Grades 8,9,10, and11 students, with their coach Sir Daniel Boone Bereber, had reviewed and put their aspirations to the test despite doing it online rather than the usual convenience of assessing it face-to-face.

The Philippine Mathematical Olympiad (PMO) is the most prestigious nationwide mathematics competition among selected high school students. It is the breeding ground for the country’s representatives to the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO).

Although it was just a few steps ahead to secure a spot in the National Stage, our kudos to the team for reaching outstanding standards that gave pride to the institution and its community. It would not be possible without the support of the administration, faculty and staff, family, and friends. Mabuhay, AES!
